<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device that can perform demand control without setting priority of a household electric appliance. <P>SOLUTION: A communication adapter 401 controls a household electric appliance 301 on the basis of an instruction item corresponding to a specified priority order among a plurality of instruction items used for control of the household electric appliance 301 if a reduction instruction DRα for reducing power consumption in a house by a specified rate is received from an external device. The communication adapter 401 switches the instruction item used for controlling the household electric apparatus 301 to an instruction item having a one-step-lower priority order if power consumption of the household electric appliance 301 has not been reduced by the specified rate after control based on the instruction item corresponding to the specified priority order. The communication adapter 401 controls the household electric appliance 301 on the basis of the instruction item after the switching. The communication adapter 401 repeats switching of the instruction item and controlling the household electric appliance 301 on the basis of the instruction item after the switching until power consumption of the household electric appliance 301 is reduced by the specified rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
