Driver assistance system with control of parking brake

The system has an operating data sensor for detecting operating data characterizing instantaneous or future movement conditions of an automobile. An electric controller (24) triggers an autonomous emergency brake application of the automobile during the presence of preset operating data. The controller is designed in such a manner that an electro pneumatic parking brake (28) of the automobile is brought to an active position directly before, during or after the emergency brake application, where the parking brake is passively brought to a braking position during power failure. An independent claim is also included for an automobile with a driver assistance system and an electro-pneumatic parking brake.
