Powder from hopper 10 is discharged! as a curtain by roller 15, the roller being scraped by device 25 adjustable at 33. The roller is formed with double-thread spiral grooves 22 which are polished, the surface of the roller being unpolished or slightly roughened. Seal 23 prevents loss of powder.
