Weight change measurement for casting - ladles of steel work cranes

A lever is balanced for a full cradle between a spring and a load cell. Weight reductions by casting an ingot are indicated by an extra load on the load cell which is a ferrite core connected to a differential transformer. The load cell can be re-set after each casting cycle by a servo-motor.
