A slide projector has a slide changing and magazine indexing mechanism in which a manually or motor-operated saddle 20 as in Fig. 7 moves normally to the optical axis and causes a slider 28 to move parallel to said axis when the saddle is displaced in that direction by engagement of cam slot 19 with pin 17 Fig. 4 on the rod 16 of slide pusher 14, this displacement of saddle 20 indexing the slide magazine 15 through the engagement of pin 21 Fig. 4 with rack 22 Fig. 7. Slots 24, 25 in saddle 20 engage projections 26, 27 of slider 28 below whose longitudinal part has slots 29, 30 receiving studs 31, 32 fixed to the projector base. Manual operation Slide pusher 14 is driven forward by handle 13 to the full-line position of Fig. 4, pusher 14 entering a slot in the magazine 15 to transport a slide to the projection gate. The turned end 18 Fig. 7 of pin 17 returns the slide to the magazine when handle 13 is withdrawn, and pin 17 then engages cam slot 19 as above, for magazine indexing. Motor-driven operation Cooling fan motor 33 Fig. 1 has a belt drive to top pulley 37 which drives a lower disc through a solenoid 45 operated slipping clutch Fig. 4, whereby pinion 40 on the spindle 39 is rotated to drive turntable 42 by meshing with ring gear 41. Pin 43 on the turntable engages slot 48 in a follower 44 fixed to rod 16 of the slide pusher which is thereby oscillated as the turntable rotates. The slides are thus changed and the magazine indexed as above. After one cycle, detent 46 actuates micro-switch 47 to de-energize solenoid 45. To change the slide, the solenoid is switched on by the operator. To change to manual operation, pin 43 is dis-engaged from slot 48. Blind 49 covers the gate when no slide is contained therein. Objective lens 1 is focused by friction roller means controlled by knob 9, the lens barrel moving on four supporting wheels. |
