PURPOSE: An error detecting device in a dual controller system and a method thereof are provided to improve the safety and reliability of data communication by individually determining an error of final data through each controller and blocking the output of dangerous data having an error. CONSTITUTION: A first controller(120) includes an identifier in sensing data received from a sensor to transmit first data. If an error of the sensing data is detected, the first controller transmits a first off-control signal. A second controller(130) calculates second data by calculating the sensing data and synchronizes the first and the second data based on the identifier included in the first data. If the error is detected from a comparison result of the first and the second data, the second controller transmits a second off-control signal. If the first and/or the second off-control signals are inputted, an AND switching unit(150) outputs an interrupt signal for deactivating a CAN(Control Area Network) transceiver(140).
