PURPOSE: An information providing method and a device are provided to receive binding information to an image file when a user transmits the image file to an information providing server without keyword input, thereby enabling the user to conveniently receive the information. CONSTITUTION: A receiving unit(552) receives an image file from a user terminal. An identification unit(554) identifies an image by analyzing the image file. A search unit(556) searches the image file which is matched with the identified image. A providing unit(558) provides binding information for the searched image file to the user terminal. The identification unit analyzes signature information or EXIF(EXchangeable Image file Format) information of the image file and extracts identification information included in the image file. The search unit searches an image file including the identification information which is matched with the identification information among image files.
