PURPOSE: A wireless power transmitting apparatus and a wireless power transmitting method are provided to increase power transmission efficiency by increasing the intensity of a current supplied to a horizontal induction coil or vertical induction coil in a region with a wireless power receiving apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of horizontal induction coils(410) are arranged on a substrate(440). A plurality of vertical induction coils(420) are vertical to the plurality of horizontal induction coils. A detecting unit(470) detects the location of a wireless power receiving apparatus on the substrate. A current divider(450) increases the intensity of a current supplied to the vertical induction coil and the horizontal induction coil. A resonant coil(430) transmits power according to the current supplied to the vertical induction coil and the horizontal induction coil to the wireless power receiving apparatus.
