PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display apparatus is provided to display a stereoscopic image by controlling one light source and changing the route of light transmitted to a holographic optical element. CONSTITUTION: A stereoscopic image display apparatus includes an image panel(100), an image panel illuminating holographic optical element(200), an image panel memorized holographic optical element(300), a light source(500), and a beam steering unit(400). The image panel outputs an image. The image panel illuminating holographic optical element supplies backlight to the front surface of the image panel. The light source generates a collimated beam. The beam steering unit controls the heading direction of light emitted from the light source. The image panel memorized holographic optical element memorizes the form of the image panel illuminating holographic optical element and irradiates light reflected from the beam steering unit to the image panel illuminating holographic optical element. A control unit controls the driving of the beam steering unit.
