<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to cook while shaking a pan without impairing convenience, even when an automatic thermal-power adjustment function and an overheat prevention function are equipped. <P>SOLUTION: When a controller, in a discrimination at S3, detects a non-placing state of a cooking container on a trivet on the basis that an ON signal of a microswitch cannot be obtained, the controller discriminates the presence of a detection signal of a photoelectric sensor at S4. After the detection signal can be obtained and the presence of the cooking container is confirmed, a timer is started at S8 and low flame control is postponed.
