PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling driving of a knitting machine is provided to stop knitting and inform breakage of a knitting needle when the breakage is sensed. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling driving of a knitting machine comprises a knitting needle sensing unit(140), a control unit(150), and an alarm unit(160). The knitting needle sensing unit senses a knitting state of one or more needle beds(110). The alarm unit informs a user breakage of a knitting needle.
