<p>Provided are a drive circuit and a home-side device, wherein it is possible to reduce the reactive current that does not contribute to driving a light-emitting element for transmitting optical signals. A drive circuit is provided with a bias current supply circuit for supplying bias current to a light-emitting element for transmitting optical signals in a light-emitting circuit containing the light-emitting element, and a modulation current supply circuit for supplying, to the light-emitting unit, a modulation current having a strength that corresponds to the logical value of data to be transmitted. The modulation current supply circuit contains a differential drive circuit for switching between supplying and not supplying the current to the light-emitting element depending on the logical value of the data, and a terminal resistor connected between the differential outputs of the differential drive circuit. The differential drive circuit and the light-emitting circuit are direct-current coupled, and the power source of the current supplied to the light-emitting element by the differential drive circuit is supplied by the light-emitting circuit.</p> |
