<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient cooling system, which is a cooling device using a harmful refrigerants such as ammonium, can be miniaturized and saved in energy, and can withstand the leakage or the like of a harmful gas. <P>SOLUTION: The cooling system comprises: a cold-wind sucking damper 25 attached to a cold-wind suction part; a cold-wind blow-out damper 26 attached to a cold-wind blow-out part of a cooler; a discharging damper 27 which is closed in a normal time and attached to a portion of the cooler; a refrigerant leakage detection sensor 28 which detects the leakage of the harmful refrigerants; a control device 13 which stops the operation of a freezer 18 when the leakage of the harmful refrigerants is detected by the refrigerant leakage detection sensor, and operates the cold-wind sucking damper 25 and the cold-wind blow-out damper 26 so as to be closed; discharging ducts 35, 29 which are detachably attached to a discharging opening/closing means 27, and discharge the leaked harmful refrigerants to the outside of a cooled chamber 10; and a heating means which can heat the inside of the discharging ducts up to a temperature at which the leaked refrigerants leaked into the discharging ducts are changed to gas phases from liquid phases.
