PURPOSE: A driving device of a liquid crystal display and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce power consumption by inverting the level of common voltage supplied to the liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel(2) is supplied differently by one selected from a first and a second common voltage by vertical line. The liquid crystal panel displays an image by supplying the first or the second common voltage to a pixel electrode. A data driver(4) supplies an image signal to data lines of the liquid crystal panel. A timing controller(8) supplies video data to the data driver.
