<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a learning device and a learning system using the same which can enhance learning effect on a user by providing the user with various learning materials and learning methods. <P>SOLUTION: A learning device comprises: timing means; alarm setting means for setting an alarm; alarm actuation means for actuating the alarm on the basis of settings by the alarm setting means; alarm stop means for stopping the alarm; and question setting means for setting a question for a user on the basis of an alarm stop signal output by the alarm stop means. The learning device also comprises external connection means which can connect to a telecommunication line network, and communicates with an external server via the telecommunication line network. Thus, the learning device can acquire questions from the external server.
