<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader for positioning an automatic original transport device and a second reading face when an image of an original is read by using the automatic original transport device and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the image reader. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader includes: an original platen 31; an openable/closable cover 32; an automatic original transport device 3B installed in the cover 32; a mounting tray 332 that can be displaced between a first position on which an original can be mounted and a second position different from the first position; a projection member 100 which is arranged in the cover 32 and can move to a projection position projected toward the original platen 31 from a lower face 332 and an evacuation position which does not project from the lower face 332; and a positioning hole 313 formed in the original platen 31. The projection member 100 moves from the evacuation position to the projection position with the cover 32 closed in conjunction with the displacement of the mounting tray 332 from the second position to the first position and is inserted into the positioning hole 313. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
