PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element with high luminous efficiency.

SOLUTION: The energy difference between the emissive layer host HOMO/the phosphorescent dopant HOMO and the neighboring hole transport layer HOMO is less than 0.2 eV. In addition, the energy difference between the emissive layer host LUMO/the phosphorescent dopant LUMO and the neighboring electron transport layer LUMO is less than 0.2 eV.
