<p>Provided are a device and method for executing a remosaic process involving conversion to an image of a different pixel array. A mosaic image in which are arrayed pixel blocks constituted by a plurality of pixels of the same color is input as an input image, and a remosaic process is executed to convert the pixel array of the input image to a different pixel array. In this remosaic process, from among the constituent pixels of the input image, pixel value gradients in eight directions are detected at a conversion-targeted pixel location that is targeted for color conversion, and on the basis of the pixel value gradients in the eight directions, an interpolated pixel value computation mode for the conversion-targeted pixel is determined, and an interpolated pixel value of the conversion-targeted pixel location is calculated in accordance with the thusly determined processing mode. For example, an image having a quadripartite Bayer RGB array in which 2x2 pixel units are arrayed for each color of the Bayer RGB array would be converted to a Bayer array.</p> |
