<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shield unit capable of reducing the possibility that a light shield layer is peeled off from a principal surface of a substrate, an input unit, a display unit, and an electronic device. <P>SOLUTION: A light shield unit includes: a substrate 2 having a first principal surface 2a, a second principal surface 2b positioned opposite to the first principal surface 2a, and an end surface 2c adjacent to the first principal surface 2a and the second principal surface 2b; and a light shield layer 6 provided on the second principal surface 2b of the substrate 2.
