The present application is directed to an accessory retention band (200) for portable electronic devices (102). In one aspect, an accessory retention band may comprise an elastic or stretchable band (201) to be placed around a portion of a cover of a portable electronic device. In some embodiments, the accessory retention band may comprise one or more accessory retainers (202, 210) for securely holding accessories. In other embodiments, the accessory retention band (300) may comprise one or more pouches (302) for holding accessories. The accessory retention band may be sized to allow for full use of features of the cover, including folding the cover into a stand or easel for the electronic device.
