A method is disclosed for determining a noise level on a data transmission line having a certain length, in particular on a DSL line, comprising:
- measuring parameter values of the data transmission line;
- receiving the parameter values by a computing means;
- extracting a scalar value representing a degree of electromagnetic interference on the transmission line from the parameter values, the scalar value being independent of the line length, by the computing means;
- displaying the scalar value on a graphical user interface; and associated devices. |
