In a process for printing on small moulded plastic articles, the hot plastic material is placed in a mould in which the wall which forms the print on the surface is cut out in the form of a stencil through its thickness and has a means for supplying ink to the stencil. The stencil is pref. attached to an inking head, the opposite face of the stencil being provided with a porous element e.g. a metal screen or a porous metal alloy, above which is an ink distributor such as a layer of felt. The ink receptacle is connected to an ink supply which may be pumped synchronously with the moulding process. The process avoids a separate printing stage.
|
