PURPOSE: A novel heterocyclic compound and an organic light emitting diode containing the same are provided to ensure excellent light emitting characteristic and charge transfer ability. CONSTITUTION: A novel heterocyclic compound is denoted by chemical formula 1. An organic light emitting diode comprises a first electrode, a second electrode, and an organic layer which is inserted between the first and second electrodes. The organic layer contains the compound denoted by the chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are independently hydrogen, heavy hydrogen, a halogen group, a cyano group, a substituted or non-substituted C1-50 alkyl group, a substituted or non-substituted C5-60 aryl group, a C5-50 aryl group-substituted amino group, a C3-60 heteroaryl group, or a substituted or non-substituted C6-60 condensed polycyclic group.
