ACTIVE CLUTCH AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An active clutch and a control method thereof are provided to reduce the weight and size of a clutch by not requiring a separate hydraulic system and to promptly and precisely control the clutch. CONSTITUTION: An active clutch includes a leaf spring(40), a release unit(70), a drive unit(79), a power transmission unit(90), and a control unit. The leaf spring provides a virtual pressure in order to attach a fly wheel(10) to a clutch disk(20) which is connected to an output shaft(12). The fly wheel receives the power of an engine. The release unit transforms the leaf spring and releases the virtual pressure provided to the clutch disk. The drive unit provides the power to the release unit. The power transmission unit delivers the power of driver to the release unit. The control unit determines whether to shift gears according to the speed change of a car and transmits an operation signal to the drive unit.
