PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing deterioration of display quality.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises: a first substrate AR with pixel electrodes PE including contact sections PC, main pixel electrodes PA extending in a second direction Y crossing a first direction X from both ends of the contact sections PC in the first direction X and connection sections P1 for electrically connecting extended tips of the main pixel electrodes PA; a second substrate CT with common electrodes CE including main common electrodes CA extending substantially in parallel with the main pixel electrodes PA on both sides across the main pixel electrodes PA and sub common electrodes CB extending between the main common electrodes CA between the pixel electrodes PE arranged in the second direction Y; and a liquid layer LQ including liquid crystal molecules LM held between the first substrate AR and the second substrate CT.
