<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reader capable of suppressing erroneous reading when success or failure of decoding is determined by comparing respective decoding results to the same information code with each other. <P>SOLUTION: When a first decoding result is decoded, a second decoding result which is decoded on the basis of a light receiving signal to be output from a light receiving sensor 28 which receives reflected light from bar codes of the first decoding result in a state that an irradiation state is changed to the bar codes is compared with the first decoding result.
