PNEUMATIC RADIAL TIRE FOR PASSENGER CAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire for a passenger car capable of improving maneuvering stability when traveling at a high speed, and capable of improving flat spot resistant performance, in the pneumatic radial tire for the passenger car of using a belt cover layer formed of a steel cord.

SOLUTION: The belt cover layer 20 is arranged on the outer peripheral side of a belt layer 10. The belt cover layer 20 is constituted of a belt-like member 21 of embedding the steel cord 20a in rubber. Adjacent revolving parts of the belt-like member 21 are spirally wound in the tire circumferential direction so as not to contact each other in an area of at least 50% of the belt width W with the tire equator CL as the center. A load-strain curve of the steel cord 20a has an inflection point in a strain area of 1-3.5%, and an average elastic modulus in a 50-100 N load of the steel cord 20a is set in 25-100 GPa.
