PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a conventional terminal device cannot determine an area in which its own device exists with high accuracy.

SOLUTION: A terminal device determines whether the own device exists in a first area or in a second area different from the first area. The terminal device comprises: a signal reception unit for receiving a signal from each of one or two positioning satellites; representative value calculation unit for calculating a representative value which represents two or more signals received by the signal reception unit; distribution state value calculation unit for calculating a distribution state value which indicates a distribution state of the two or more signals received by the signal reception unit; determination unit for determining whether the terminal device exists in the first area or in the second area by using the representative value and the distribution state value to acquire a determination result; and an output unit for outputting the determination result acquired by the determination unit. Thus, the terminal device can determine an area in which the own terminal device exists with high accuracy.
