<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device capable of attaining miniaturization. <P>SOLUTION: An image pickup device 1 includes: multiple photoelectric conversion parts 11 arranged in a matrix shape inside an imaging area AR; vertical electric charge transfer parts 12 arrayed between the adjacent columns of the photoelectric conversion parts 11 and transferring electric charges stored in the photoelectric conversion parts 11 in a vertical direction; voltage supply wires 16a, 16b, 17a, 17b arranged outside of one side of the imaging area AR; and metallic wires 14a, 14b, 15a, 15b formed in a state to connect corresponding gate electrodes 18a, 18b, 19a, 19b for each row of the photoelectric conversion parts 11 and connected to the voltage supply wires 16a, 16b, 17a, 17b.
