<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a railway rail which allows work efficiency to be enhanced and prevents temperature rise. <P>SOLUTION: A thermal melting layer 31 containing a melting component which melts at a predetermined ambient temperature is formed on the surface. The melting component encapsulated in a microcapsule 32 absorbs heat from a railway rail 1 due to the melting heat at a predetermined temperature. Only one of both side faces of the rail 1 is provided with a first layer containing a plurality of the melting components having a different melting temperature.
