<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, an apparatus, a method, and a program capable of producing accurate and speedy tsunami height predictions unaffected by earthquake magnitude. <P>SOLUTION: A tsunami height prediction system 1 includes: a tide gauge 20 deployed along a coastline; and a tsunami height prediction apparatus 10. The tsunami height prediction apparatus 10 includes: a sinusoid generator 11 for acquiring a plurality of data specifying tide levels from the tide gauge 20 and generating a sinusoid representing changes in a sea level based on the acquired plurality of data; and a tsunami height predictor 12 for predicting tsunami height based on a maximum amplitude of the sinusoid generated by the sinusoid generator 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
