<p>The title cpds. are of formula (I): H2NCONH(CH2)3CONRR1 (where R and R1 = H, alkyl (opt. substd. by OH), alkylamino, arylamino). Prefd. are those cpds. where R = H and R1 = 1-4C alkyl, isopropylamine, isopropylimine, 1-CH3 propylamine, 1,3-dimethylbutylamine or 1,3-dimethyl butylimine, or R and R1 = CH3. The cpds. were prepd. by the reaction of methyl gamma-ureido butyrate (II) with ammonia or hydrazine hydrate, followed by conversion into the other derivs. by known methods, if desired. In an example, (II) was treated with 20% NH4OH to give (I) R = R1 = H, m.pt. 173.5-174.5 degrees C.</p> |
