<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infusion device for delivering fluid dosage into a patient's body. <P>SOLUTION: The infusion device includes: an inlet; an outlet; a piston channel through which a fluid flows from the inlet to the outlet; an actuator moveable between a retracted position and a forward position; and a housing for storing them. The actuator defines a piston chamber for storing the fluid received through the inlet when the actuator is in the retracted position and drives the fluid stored in the piston chamber toward the outlet when the actuator moves from the retracted position to the forward position. The actuator includes a piston moveable within the piston channel, which has an inlet end and an outlet end. The device includes a first fluid chamber communicated with the inlet and a second fluid chamber communicated with the outlet. The piston includes a groove in an outer surface from the inlet end to the outlet end for conducting the fluid from the inlet to the outlet and the groove is a helical groove around the piston. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
