The invention is aimed at providing a method of treating a gaseous mixture containing water and mercaptans, the method comprises contacting gas mixture with an absorbent composition comprising a diol compound of formula H-(O-CH-CH)-OH, in which n represents an integer from 1 to 4, and C-Cthioalkanol. The invention also relates to an absorbent composition comprising the diol compound of formula H-(O-CH-CH)-OH, in which n represents an integer from 1 to 4, and C-Cthioalkanol useful for said method. |
