摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the location and azimuth of a portable terminal with high accuracy in a portable terminal and a location and azimuth estimation program by using a relatively inexpensive sensor incorporated in the portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: In a portable terminal, an inertia navigation method for performing short-range wireless communication with an external device having own location information stored therein is used. The portable terminal is configured to include: a detection unit which, upon detecting the acceleration of the portable terminal, outputs the acceleration information; a photographing unit which photographs a picture image; a communication unit which communicates with an external device; and a control unit which, when the communication unit becomes ready to communicate with the external device, sets the location information received from the external device to the initial location of the portable terminal, as well as predicts photographing timing on the basis of an AC component of the acceleration information to control the photographing unit so that the image of the external device will be photographed with the photographing timing, and sets a yaw angle estimated from the photographed image of the external device to an initial azimuth of the portable terminal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
