<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The device (10) has a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heating element (12) including contact layers (16, 18) for providing an electrical supply. The contact layers are cohesively attached to the PTC heating element. Heat conducting films (28, 30) i.e. silicone films, and adhesive layers are arranged between the PTC heating element and heat exchangers (14, 15). Electrical insulating layers (24, 26) are cohesively attached on the contact layers and/or at the heat exchanger. The films and the adhesive layers stay in heat conductive contact with the heat exchangers. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Heating device for use in a portable heater (claimed) i.e. vehicle heater, for heating fluid e.g. water and air. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The electrical insulating layer is cohesively attached on the contact layers and/or at the heat exchangers, thus simplifying arrangement and mounting of the heating elements of the device. The utilization of the heat conducting films and the adhesive layers enables heat transmission from the PTC heating element to the heat exchangers, thus avoiding the need for separate contact plates for contacting the contact layers, and avoiding friction effects that damage the contact layers, while increasing a life span of the contact layers and the heating element. The device has a simple layered structure, and is safely operated.
