<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid-crystal display device with reduced power consumption achieved through more efficient utilization of external light. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid-crystal display device 1A includes a liquid crystal panel 20 located on the front face of the device main body, a lighting window located on the back face of the device main body, reflector plates 12 located between the liquid-crystal panel 20 and the lighting window, and a light irradiator 30 located between the liquid crystal panel 20 and the reflection plates 12. The light irradiator 30 has a plurality of LEDs 31 arranged in arrays thereon, and the light emitted thereby illuminates the liquid-crystal panel 20 from behind. Each of the reflector plates 12 is reflective on one main surface thereof and is rotatably attached to the device main body. The light taken in through the lighting window is reflected by the reflective surfaces of the reflection plates 12 and directed to the irradiator 30 to illuminate the liquid-crystal panel 20 from behind. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
