PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To irradiate a light-emitting unit with excitation light using desired irradiation area.

SOLUTION: A misalignment detection device 20 includes: a detection unit 21 that detects relative positions between a laser element 24, a focusing lens 27 and the light-emitting unit 3; and a determination unit 22 that compares the results from the detection unit 21 with reference relative positions that are used as references in the detection of the relative positions and determines whether the laser element 24, the focusing lens 27 and the light-emitting unit 3 are misaligned relative to each other, as detected by the detection unit 21, with respect to the reference relative positions.
