<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device and method, and communication system and method, capable of efficiently receiving signals by executing error correction and decryption and shortening required time for the error correction and decryption, using only a part of signals scattered in a time direction. <P>SOLUTION: The receiving device comprises: a GI elimination section 302 for eliminating guard intervals from reception signals; an FFT section 303 for executing time-frequency conversion; a channel estimation section 304 for calculating a frequency response estimation value; a propagation path compensation section 305 for executing propagation path compensation; a demapping section 306 for executing time de-interleave; a demodulation section 307 for executing demodulation; and a decryption section 308 for executing error correction and decryption.
