The structure has two interconnectable components (1,2), where an engaging portion (6) of the former component is arranged in a recess (4) of the latter component. The latter component is shaped, such that another engaging portion (5) of the latter component is arranged in another recess (3) of the former component. The components are formed in a sandwich structure and has a core layer (7) with a cover layer (8) attached to the core layer. The cover layer is made of aluminum, steel or fiber-reinforced plastic. The core layer is made of foam, paper honeycomb, mineral wool or balsa wood. An independent claim is included for a method for connecting components of a structure, particularly a vehicle body.
