A combustion control device (28) comprises: a fuel injection valve (5) which injects fuel into an engine combustion chamber; an electronic control unit (24) which operates the fuel injection valve to inject fuel in a plurality of iterations; an intake path for receiving an inflow of air into the combustion chamber; an exhaust path for discharging exhaust gas after combustion from the combustion chamber; and a temperature sensor (27) which detects either the external air temperature or the intake temperature into the combustion chamber. When either the external air temperature or the intake temperature which are detected by the temperature sensor (27) is lower than a prescribed temperature, the electronic control unit (24) controls the air volume which is received into the combustion chamber so as to correct the air-fuel ratio in the combustion chamber toward the lean side.
