<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoconductor which has a surface layer having good surface conditions and being uniform over the inner portion thereof, which is stable with high abrasion resistance and scratch resistance, which has good electric characteristics, and which achieves high picture quality for a long period of time, and to provide a method for manufacturing the electrophotographic photoconductor. <P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoconductor includes at least a photoconductive layer and a surface layer on a conductive support body. The surface layer is a crosslinked layer formed by curing a radical polymerizable monomer (a) having no charge transporting structure and a radical polymerizable compound (b) having a charge transporting structure, by irradiation with luminous energy light and using a photopolymerization initiator. The radical polymerizable compound having a charge transporting structure included in the surface layer shows a ratio Ae/As of 0.7 or more, where Ae represents an absorbance of the compound at an absorption peak wavelength λ after the compound is irradiated with luminous energy and As represents an absorbance of the compound at the wavelength λ before the irradiation with luminous energy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
