PURPOSE: A threading guide device for a strip front tip and a control method thereof are provided to facilitate automatic threading regardless of the diameter of a coil and to reduce time necessary for the overall processing. CONSTITUTION: : A threading guide device for a strip front tip of a coli comprises a core part, a guide table(40), a traction unit, a rotational power providing unit, and a hold down unit(60). Coil is reeled around the core part. A strip from the coil is put into the guide table. The traction unit comprises a first rotational axis(50) which is in parallel with the core part of the coil; a traction arm which rotates around the first rotational axis; and an absorbing member which is in the end part of the traction arm and is attached to the coil. The rotational power providing unit delivers the rotational power to rotate the traction arm. The hold down unit comprises a second rotational axis which is in parallel with the core part of the coil; a hold down arm which rotates around the second rotational axis; and a hold down roll in the end part of the hold down arm which prevents the coil from unreeling. The first rotational axis and the second rotational axis are formed on the same axis. The guide table includes a filler blade into which the strip is put.
