The bearing (6) has a step bearing housing (9) in whose inner space (14) a freely rotatable supporting ball (10) is arranged for supporting a front-sided shaft end (8a) of a spinning rotor (3). The ball lies against a supporting surface (11), and an aperture (12) for the shaft end is arranged opposite to the supporting surface. The supporting surface is fixedly arranged in the housing, and an annular seal surface (15) is arranged in a region of the supporting ball and seals the inner space directly at the supporting ball against the aperture. The housing is made of a plastic material.
