The present invention provides a rotary engine which comprises: a cylinder block having a first operational space and a second operational space, which are formed to be partially overlapped; a driving rotor rotatively received in the first operational space and having at least one driving blade, which is formed on an outer peripheral surface thereof; a driven rotor rotatively received in the second operational space, and having an outer peripheral surface, which comes into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the driving rotor so as to be sealed and has a driven groove formed on a portion of the outer peripheral surface so as to sealingly contact the driving blade; and an operational section disposed between the first operational space and the second operational space and alternately supplying combustion gas and steam to a back pressure space so as to be supplied to the driving rotor, thereby making the driving rotor rotate. |
