A method for displaying a menu in a mobile communication terminal and a mobile communication terminal for performing the same are provided to reduce time for selecting a menu by enabling the user to access immediately a task menu composed of tasks which the user wants to execute if the user pushes a set dedicated key. A method for displaying a menu in a mobile communication terminal comprises the following several steps. A user pushes a task key, which is a dedicated key installed in the mobile communication terminal to execute a new task(S210). If the user pushes the task key for a short time(S220), a controller displays a task list screen on a pop-up window(S250). If the user selects an item of My Menu(S260), the controller displays a user's task menu screen set by the user(S270). If the user selects a menu item(S260), the controller displays a top menu screen which is an initial task menu screen(S280). If the user pushes the task key for a long time(S220), the controller displays either the user's task menu screen or the top menu screen(S240). |
