PURPOSE: A battery pack for a laptop computer is provided to improve charging convenience by using a 24 pin data cable for a portable phone. CONSTITUTION: An external terminal receives power from a 24 pin data cable for a portable phone. N battery banks include one battery cell or more. A controller includes a bank voltage sensor, a bank switch, a power distribution switch, and a BMU. The bank voltage sensor senses the voltage of the N battery banks. When the power is applied to the external terminal, a bank switch is opened. A power distribution switch distributes the power applied from the external terminal to the N battery banks. The BMU controls the bank switch and the power distribution switch. |
