<p>Disclosed is an asphalt composition comprising 3 to 20 parts by weight of an asphalt (bitumen) comprising from 0.001 to 5 per cent by weight of at least one cationic organosilicon compound on the weight of the asphalt. Examples of the organosilicon compound include: 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethyldidecyl ammonium chloride, 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyldimethylhexadecyl ammonium chloride, and 3-[Dimethoxy(2-hydroxyethoxy)silyl]propyloctadecyldimethyl ammonium chloride.</p> |
