<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and quickly provide product information a user of a portable terminal wants, from a server device. <P>SOLUTION: A product information provision system 1 comprises: a portable terminal 2 such as a smartphone and a portable phone; a server 3 for radio-communicating with the portable terminal 2; a product feature amount DB 4 connected to the server 3; product information DB 5 also connected to the server 3; and an automatic filtering DB 6. Since the user transmits a product image photographed with the portable terminal 2 or feature amount thereof to the server 3, and the server 3 side identifies a product to send product information back to the portable terminal 2, the user of the portable terminal 2 can easily obtain the product information on the photographed product via the portable terminal 2 and convenience is enhanced.
