METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLATINUM PARTICLE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLATINUM PARTICLE CARRYING CATALYST, AND PURIFYING CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for producing platinum particles of single nanometer size and a platinum carrying catalyst of specific performance using the platinum particles, and a purifying catalyst.

SOLUTION: The method for producing platinum particles by adding a reducing agent to a platinum complex aqueous solution to reduce it to platinum metal includes using a dinitro diamino nitric acid solution as a platinum ion solution, using alcohol as the reducing agent, and setting a reaction rate to a predetermined rate or more to produce the platinum particles and the platinum particle carrying catalyst. The platinum particles or the platinum particle carrying catalyst excelling in hydrogen adsorbing/desorbing and purifying performance is obtained by this producing method.
